  • What is e-registration of Leave and License (Rent) agreement?

    It is a new facility introduced by the Maharashtra government that enables you to register your Leave and License (Rent) agreement Online without visiting the sub registrar office. Signatures are captured using a biometric device and user details are verified using the Aadhaar system.

  • Is it mandatory to include details of all tenants while drafting agreement?

    Yes, its highly recommendable to include the details of all the tenants. If you will not include the details of all the Tenants then the terms and conditions mentioned in agreement will not be applicable to all the tenants which can cause problem in future.

  • What are the pre-requisites to avail e-registration facility in Mumbai?

    All parties should have Aadhaar card and PAN number.

  • What are the documents required for registration?

    Documents required for the Registration process are:- 1. One Original Identity Proof of Owner and Tenant. 2. Two Passport Size Photograph of each-Owner and Tenant. 3. Two Witnesses with their Original Identity Proof.

  • Is it necessary to Notarized Rent Agreements in Mumbai?

    In India, it is not mandatory to notarize a Rent Agreement. As long as it is printed on Stamp paper and is signed by both parties and by two witnesses, it is considered binding. However, if you wish to notarize it, you may do so.

    If you are staying for less then 11 then It depends on the Rental Agreement you signed with the owner of your rented house. There might/will be a clause in the Agreement like you must stay for atleast 6months or so, if not, then some amount (generally one/two months rent) will be deducted as penalty along with other charges mentioned in your Agreement Otherwise you could always request the landlord to break the lease without major loss to both parties.

  • What is the difference between Lease Agreement and Rent Agreement?

    A Lease Agreement is a contractual arrangement calling for the lessee (user) to pay the lessor (owner) for use of an asset (property, premises). Broadly put, a lease Agreement is a contract between two parties. Rent Agreement is the tenant's (lessee's) regular payment to a landlord (lessor) for the use of that property, House, Flat or Land.
